Donna teaches you in the first person. You get her personality and her teaching dynamic exactly as you would get her in the classroom.

The method of filming and recording means that nothing is lost and every bit of knowledge, every story and every nuance of tuition is included. Not only that, the instructional videos are downloadable and yours to keep forever. If you need to, you can replay them. 

 Donna Meyer goes through everything, often from different perspectives so that each individual student gains understanding. She stands in front of the whiteboard providing diagrams and demonstrations, you will feel like you are there with her. Her commitment to each student fully comprehending how to draw is apparent in her teaching style.

Donna will directly guide your own drawings without giving you the privilege of copying from her. Observational drawing skills are just the beginning. They lay the foundation for you to become an artist.  It is important to your teacher that you find your own style.



Donna Meyer, the creator of 8Pod will be your personal tutor, available for direct, UNLIMITED feedback for the duration of the course. 
In the final lesson, you will choose your own reference picture, and create your own drawing from scratch by applying everything that you have learnt so far. Donna will be there to guide you.
How does the feedback work?
  • Feedback and tuition is available for the duration of the course
  • Students will send their drawings, via email and Donna will assess whether the drawing can be improved upon and will personally guide the student.
  • Students can send any questions or enquiries, directly to Donna via email at [email protected] as often as they need. 
  • ​Most feedback can be settled via email but if Donna feels that more detailed instruction is necessary, a personal meeting will be arranged via Zoom.


What you will Learn?

  • In lesson one you will learn the simplest trick in the world to make drawing easy.
  • You will come to understand exactly why drawing has been difficult up until now and how to overcome this.
  • You will learn precisely what not to do whilst in the process of drawing.
  • ​You will learn the two things that differentiate an amateur artist to a professional artist.
  • You will learn how to adjust your 'seeing' so that you use a different part of the brain. This will become a well flexed muscle, making drawing easy.
  • You will be supported through the process of finding your own inspirational images to draw and how to get everything ready to create your own artworks.
  • By lesson six you will be capable of creating your own work from scratch.​

The course will also teach you all the hurdles to jump to get you going by yourself upon completion.​

You will integrate both hemispheres of the brain. Stroke and ABI patients are regular students of 8Pod for this reason. WARNING: At the end of this course you will need to buy a new hat because your brain will be bigger... and better. Frequently asked questions

How long will the course take to complete?
You are at liberty to work through the course at your own pace but the feedback and tuition from Donna Meyer is current for up to 60 days. The instructional videos are yours to keep forever, we kindly ask that you do not share them. 
What will I need for the course?
You will need an internet connection and a printer

You will also need a set of basic art supplies:
A3 spiral bound sketchbook (minimum 110gsm)
A set of sketching or graphite pencils: 2B, 4B and 8B (minimum)
Charcoal ( Willow)
Kneadable eraser
Paper stump
Pencil Sharpener
​Black fine liner 0.4mm (or 0.5mm)

Will I be able to do this course even if i have never drawn before?
Absolutely.
Is the course suitable for children?
Yes. Normally I say from the age of 14 but this is general. It will of course depend on the child's level of comprehension. Up to the age of 14 an adult may have to help.
How much does the course cost?
$180. This includes 5 instructional videos and personal, unlimited access to Donna Meyer for tuition. This is current for 6 lessons and 180 days. 
Do you accept the creative kids vouchers
Yes.
​Learn to Draw in Eden is a Creative Kids Provider.
For all children living in NSW from the age of 4.5 - 18 years,  Service NSW will supply a $100 voucher towards the cost of this course. For NSW families with more than one child within this age bracket, multiple vouchers can be redeemed.
